About viNGN

The Virgin Islands Next Generation Network (viNGN) was established in 2010 as a public corporation; it is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Virgin Islands Public Finance Authority. It was funded by a grant from the National Telecommunications Information Administration (NTIA) as part of a federal program to improve the broadband capacity in the United States, its territories, and the District of Columbia. viNGN mission is:

“To provide world-class, open access, high-speed, 100% fiber optic broadband services to the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Caribbean, and the world via local, regional, and international partnerships and serve as an example of broadband best practices within the United States, with a focus on and commitment to the continued broadband infrastructure, economic, and community development of the U.S. Virgin Islands”.

viNGN’s vision is to lead the Territory into the “Next Generation of the Virgin Islands” with its world-class, open access, high-speed, 100% fiber optic broadband network by offering a new technology economy in the U.S. Virgin Islands by using their network as a foundation to build upon new and attract relocating high-tech and other IT-intense enterprises to stimulate economic growth and position St. Croix and the U.S. Virgin Islands as the technology corridor of the Caribbean.
